Figure 1-Little Lenore
************
It's time to sleep!
I said to me
as I tucked into my snoozerie
The world is dark
I disembark
to refuel my tired battery
I lay my head
and rest till morn
when the sky with light the sun adorns
It's daytime now
I must say Wow
The night has passed me by somehow
But fear not, friend
for in the end
the sleeping time will come again
************
If I were to write a poem about how big the Night Time is
I wouldn't have enough room
Until they invent some kind of
enormous-sized paper,
the Night Time will stretch over all
of the known paper,
covering all the words
And how can you write a poem about
Night Time
if it's too dark to read the words???

This next poem is entitled Bring Your Own Blanket.
Great is the night
Our time of rest
Once the sun sets and
Daytime is asleep
Napping
Is king of the world
Growling turns to yawns
Howling turns to snores
Trees whisper pleasant tidings
Beyond the treshold into dreamland
Yonder moon winks and smiles
Our sleepy time is upon us
But only until tomorrow

This next poem is entitled The Taste of Night.
How does one describe the taste of night?
Is it as sweet as a treat given by an athlete? The greet of a parakeet's tweet? Or the summer sugar beet grown amidst the wheat?
Is it as bitter as the winter that's got us all in a flitter? The litter dropped by a quitter? Or the glitter stuck in my neurotransmitters?
Is it as sour as the hour wherein the sun is most dour? The flowers that tower beneath the spring shower? Or the glower of a powerless coward?
Umami...
Or is it as salty as a poem whose meter is faulty? Or the wilted fall leaves all flimsy and walty?
Above all... I think night tastes GOOD! And I hope all of you think so too! GOOD night!!

This next poem is entitled Beddy Bye.
Hark! The night time is approached! The stars are placed, the sun is waste, the moon's begun to broach.
Wait! There's trouble in my ear! I turn and peek-- oh, ACK! Oh, EEK! My bed is nowhere near!
Wail! I cry and stamp my feet! Without my bed, my dreams unfed, my mind begins to heat!
Beg! I dart hereto and fro. Search unabridged! Under the fridge? Wherever my eye goes!
Blight! A curse upon my name! I've caught the spite of a fiendish sprite. That's all that will explain!
Grief! My body stops and sinks. Brain's slovenly, when suddenly, I trip upon a think!
Aha! Just as I'd expect! My dreaming loom is in the bedroom, What joy that I had checked!
Snooze! It's time to hit the hay. I grab my sheet and sleep so sweet, awaiting the next day.

This next poem is entitled Blood.
Blood, Blood, it's all life needs.
You, me, and even the bees.
Even the trees.
It's in our knees.
